Who is Rob Henrichon ?

As mentioned above, I'm a web/audio designer, developer, and consultant with a penchant for delivering a clear message.

I started my digital media  journey like many others. I came from a musical background and in 1989 I wanted to pursue other creative venues. Initially, I started producing audio for gaming companies out of my home studio, and then eventually, started producing audio and voice-overs for corporate info-mercials, blending in Flash animations and imagery at that time. I also worked for several ad agencies in the northeast and learned a lot of valuable "design and people skills," early on. The kind that you just can't learn in a typical school setting.

My design approach zeroes in on simplicity and function. I believe my clients would also say that an un-cluttered clean look is another reason that they continue to contract with me. The other is > DETAILS.

Hi, I’m Rob Henrichon, owner and founder of OnTrack Interactive.
* And yes, as friends and colleagues will attest, I did "lock" myself in an attic for eighteen months to intently study guitar in my early twenties. That's another chapter.

WHY HERE?

A question I’m asked quite often is: “Why are you based in Rutland, Vermont?”

It’s a fair question. Most tech professionals with my experience work for companies like Microsoft, Google and Apple. They live in Silicon Valley, New York, Los Angeles, Austin and a dozen other cities where technology is dominant.

I was born and raised in beautiful Vermont. It’s my home.
But, to pursue my career, I DID move to the big cities and took part in the technology “boom” of the early 2000’s. I even relocated across the country to Los Angeles.

Hated it! I’m just not a “city guy.”

BACK TO ROOTS.

If you’ve ever visited Vermont, you know it’s like living in the middle of a Norman Rockwell painting, especially in the fall. It should be on everyone’s “bucket list.”

Beyond the beauty is the lifestyle. Vermont breeds a healthy, outdoor lifestyle with some of the best skiing, hiking, camping, fishing and swimming to be found anywhere.

WORK / LIFE BALANCE SHOWS UP.

So, yes, I place importance on work-life balance. This includes my family, friends, health and leisure.

And, believe it or not, it shows up in my work, and, your end product. (That’s another reason why you should retain my firm).

Happy, well-balanced website developers create better websites. On time. On budget. Period.

It’s really that simple. I could give you a thousand reasons why, but for now, please just trust me on this.

THE QUIRK THAT GETS ME HIRED.

However, as much as I try to keep my life in balance, I do have one major quirk.

During recent conversations with a few clients I was surprised to learn that the #1 reason they hired me was because of a “behavior” most therapists consider dysfunctional!

I have a mania for the meticulousness of a website (some say I’m over the top!) This is probably true of a lot of web developers. But, according to my clients, I take it to a whole new level!

But, this quirk is good news for you. My obsession for efficient, clean design and functionality not only makes for a “fast” website, but, also ensures up-time, security, and hundreds of “little things” that make your website outperform all others.

And, with our hosting / maintenance packages, you’ll know, beyond any doubt, your website will run flawlessly - 24/7.

Even in the off chance that something does happen, you won’t lose one second of sleep. That’s because I constantly monitor our sites and exercise my “quirkiness,” even if it means my entire team and I stay up all night to “deep dive” and fix whatever it is.

My goal is to ensure our hosted/maintained websites are 100% operational at all times (99% doesn’t cut it.) May I get an AMEN for that! BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.

It’s considered unwise, and in some cases discriminatory, to bring up one’s age. But, frankly, my experience is a huge advantage - and another reason why you should retain my firm.

However, a well-designed website facilitates all of those marketing vehicles and specific functions in a coordinated and cohesive manner. With no disrespect intended, most 30-somethings today, have very little experience with the aforementioned non-web-based marketing tactics. I’ve been “hands-on” helping companies transition to web-based marketing for the past 25 years. I know a lot about what works - and what doesn’t. Your marketing department is going to love my insight (but, I’ll still give them all the credit).
